What stuck:

• Came out a firm supporter of competency-based education.
• Had an amazing wife who supported me 100% on the journey.
• Was able to apply a lot of my work experience directly to the coursework.
• Earning the degree while managing a large ERP project at work was genuinely hard. I persisted.

What stuck:

• Continued my exploration into the world of anthropology.
• Met and interacted with a genuinely diverse group of people.
• Discovered that I have difficulty learning math in a lecture hall with 300 other people.

What stuck:

• Met Sue Beilke, who became a second mom to me.
• Learned a lot about how a library actually functions.
• Developed the passion for anthropology that carried into UW.

South Kitsap High School

High School Diploma

What stuck:

• Taught elementary school kids how to swim at the school pool.
