What stuck:
- Came out a firm supporter of competency-based education.
- Had an amazing wife who supported me 100% on the journey.
- Was able to apply a lot of my work experience directly to the coursework.
- Earning the degree while managing a large ERP project at work was genuinely hard. I persisted.

- Continued my exploration into the world of anthropology.
- Met and interacted with a genuinely diverse group of people.
- Discovered that I have difficulty learning math in a lecture hall with 300 other people.

- Met Sue Beilke, who became a second mom to me.
- Learned a lot about how a library actually functions.
- Developed the passion for anthropology that carried into UW.

- Taught elementary school kids how to swim at the school pool.
