About

Ed-tech and IT leadership, self-hosting, and a long-standing habit of taking things apart to see how they work.

Twenty-five years in ed-tech and IT leadership. I’m comfortable with Docker, SSH, the command line, and self-hosting — technically fluent without being a full-time developer, which turns out to be a useful place to stand when the job is deciding what a system should do rather than writing all of it.

What I build for myself leans Python, FastAPI, and SQLite, run in Docker. This site runs on a small VPS of my own, deployed through Coolify — which is either a reasonable engineering decision or a hobby that pays rent in understanding, depending on the week.

Consulting work happens under Duckworth Innovations.
